Welcome to the Crisis.
We are referring to the crisis as a general term, as a state of being.
The world is and has been in a crisis for a very long time. The world has ended many times, for many people.
The alarming hydro situation of the earth will end yet another world. This disaster reflects the relationship between the different bodies of water that are still here.
To drink a glass of water is to ingest the ghosts of bodies that haunt that water. When “nature calls” sometime later, we return to the cistern and the sea not only our antidepressants, our chemical estrogens, or our more commonplace excretions, but also the meanings that permeate those materialities: disposable culture, medicalized problem-solving, ecological disconnect. - Astrida Neimanis, Bodies of Water - Posthuman Feminist Phenomenology, 2017

D.N.A. brings FCNN’s members Anita Beikpour and Dina El Kaisy Friemuth together with artist and music producer Neda Sanai. Together they have started a new project hydrocapsules.love which proposes a space both digital and physical, this new project functions as an ecofeminist organism of different collaborations and conversations about an ecological time in crisis. In this case, the collective is a feminist strategy that cancels the singular artist model as a producer of finished art commodities. The project has been created for the 11th Berlin Biennale 2020 curated by Maria Berrios, Renata Cervetto, Lisette Lagnado, and Agustín Pérez Rubio and is in continuous flow and ever change.
